Vintage 90

I put a set of these in a Japanese strat copy rather than going down the standard single coil upgrade route. The body needed a bit of reworking to fit them but once I heard them immediately come to life I was so happy with this decision. The real difference is the massive amounts of sustain, greater warmth and more interesting harmonic overtones I get with these versus what was there even though the previous pick ups were not bad. These pickups are also way more sensitive to picking touch I mostly pick with my fingers and these pickups really respond to my attack and can go from warm, soft and clean to gritty, loud and with lots of character without having to touch any settings on my amp or effects. I absolutely love this tonal range you easily get which I’ve never got with other pickups apart from just being louder without any change in the tonal characteristics. The pickups were delivered to Australia in no time and were nicely packaged and all the useful info on the website made the whole experience a joy. This is my first set of tonerider pickups but I’ll definitely be trying out some others on another strat build I no longer play because of the uninspiring pickups I bought previously for it. The price of these makes this more appealing and the sounds I’ve got from this experience gives me a lot of confidence I won’t be disappointed

I bought the Vintage 90 neck pickup together with a Hot 90 for the bridge, to replace the stock pickups in a TV yellow Les Paul Special. I am just blown away how good this sounds! Thick and warm but with exactly the right amount of punch at the same time. Can’t put the guitar down, just need to hear those tones all day… If you are looking for a replacement of P90s, don’t hesitate, go and try these. You won‘t find more bang for your buck somewhere else. Besides, Tonerider ships super fast, and the whole unboxing experience etc. is just awesome. Ordered a pair of Tele pickups as well and they sound also amazing! Big Tonerider fan!!

These aren't the first Tonerider pickups I've bought, and certainly won't be the last. I needed some replacement pickups for a Les Paul copy and, having watched a lot of YT videos, and based on previous experience with some excellent Alnico II and V humbuckers, opted for these.
Superbly put together and offer a great deal more clarity than the pickups they've replaced and punch way above their weight price wise too. I'm very happy (again).
