Full Description

Our Vintage Plus is set is the perfect "all rounder". The neck model offers warmth and clarity, whilst the bridge pickup can handle everything from country licks to classic rock.

The bridge pickup is wound on a grey fibreboard bobbin wrapped with white string, and a copper-plated ferrous baseplate. The Alnico rod pole pieces incorporate Tonerider's modified stagger, with a higher third and fourth string polepieces to optimise string-string balance.

The neck pickup features our in-house Nickel-Silver cover for tonal transparency, and we include wood screws for direct mounting to the body, and two #4/40 pan head screws for use when mounting the pickup to a pickguard.

Each pickup is fully wax potted to reduce any microphonic feedback, and comes supplied with screws, latex height adjustment tubing and an installation guide.

Total Transformation

A quality set of pickups that have transformed my Tele copy. Beautiful, clean tones from the neck pickup sounding almost Strat like but still able to coax some nice Tele neck pickup tones out of it including some wonderful warm jazz tones. I bought the neck p/up first and was so pleased I bought the bridge p/up direct from Tonerider. The two pickups combined, after some experimentation, provide the best Tele middle position I have ever heard while the bridge position is (I usually hate to use the word) awesome! More than enough snap, plenty of snarl and a Tele crunch tone that defies belief. Think vintage Tele but with more punch. It just hits your amp that little bit harder. I can go from a really good clean tone on the neck pickup to a powerful, slightly overdriven Tele bridge sound without pedals or changing amp channels. All dependent on amp and amp settings of course so for full disclosure I have a modified Fender Blues Junior tweed edition and a Vox. While obviously “your mileage may vary” I can wholeheartedly recommend these pickups. Vintage plus is a very accurate description; neck pickup more versatile and bridge pickup more guts. For my money they would improve many Fender Teles and I have owned one in the past.

Great pickup, especially for the price

I built my daughter a tele to learn on, but I wanted to do it right. I went with the Tone Rider tele neck for this one. It is really well made. The nickel/silver cover means the pickup isn’t choked by the normal brass cover. The pickup itself is a lot like a strat pickup. Articulate and clear. I’m impressed.

These pickups are a steal

I don’t have a tele, but I love the versatility of tele pickups, so I installed these in a squier mustang (I had to router new holes in the pick guard). Along with a new nut, these pickups make the guitar punch way above its class. I’d recommend tonerider to anyone who wants quality pickups at a fraction of what other boutique makers (or Fender) will charge you.
